Baden-Powell Week

This week the world is celebrating B-P week, a week in which we celebrate the life of our Scouting founder, Robert Baden-Powell.

The anniversary is celebrated by nearly 28 million Scouts across the world as 'Founder's Day' and will be marked by parties, events and activities. Our group is having a pot-luck banquet Tuesday night which should be a lot of fun.

(It is interesting to note that Baden-Powell shared his birthday with his wife, Olave, who later became World Chief Guide. The UK celebrates the same day as 'Thinking Day.' )
The events are an opportunity to give thanks for all that B-P has done in his life and to celebrate diversity in culture, colour and creed. Through these activies we can promote the message of everyday adventure, life skills, and spirituality.

Make sure you check out the following video on B-P's life.

Happy B-P week to all!
